For no apparent reason, Altjira, the first and only Kuiper Belt Object to be named for a deity in the Aboriginal culture dances about the perimeter of my attention. He requested participation in a screenplay I’m developing as the deep stirring motivation for my protagonist.
That stirring realized, and given that as this post reaches out into Cyberspace I will be driving home from a film festival in which a script I penned was selected, I decided to give Altjira some consideration... to impart some of the awe I feel for this object in space.
Turns out, today Altjira transits 10 Gemini 27. Turns out, between the 7th of this month and the 12th of next month, Altjira will be directly transited by Mars, Ceres, the Sun and Mercury.
It is curious to note that Altjira’s node is 1 Aries 50 and his perihelion 29 Capricorn 35. Aries and Capricorn sport totems that ascend to lofty, craggy heights to avoid dangers, conflicts from adversaries, leaving them far below. In Aboriginal mythology Altjira created the world, providing all things on Earth that humans require, then removed himself from involvement. When others went into deep dreamtime, he ascended to the highest of the sky.
A creation deity, Altjira is a sky god who carries in his nature a sense of time out of time. A term often applied to Altjiran perception is “everywhen,” sort of the time/space splices that occur at the event horizons of black holes.
While the study of transits to and from Altjira stands in its infancy, perhaps something can be gleaned from his node and perihelion - an Aries-Capricorn combo. Besides the similarity of behavioral dynamics of their totems, both signs are cardinal. Within that cardinality, the impulse to act in the moment and all reaction instincts stand on the threshold of hair-triggered.
In common with these instincts is the sense of what belongs to the primal self. Without hesitation, one might defend turf, persons loved, position, professional any life aspiration. Within the essence of Altjira’s proclivity to work within dreamtime, the instinct to protect visions and dreams would be well added to the list of priorities.
Given the “everywhen” nature of Altjira, in terms of all life aspirations, there is no time like now. Supported by the cardinal sign impetuousness, Altjira automatically engages opportunities to accomplish any aspirations ranging from self allocating to altruistic at the appearance of any related circumstance.
Because of the ascension of Altjira into the sky after providing what people on our planet require, a natural sense that there’s no help from the divine might be a natural reaction. The feeling that God’s not helping now can move a person to take on a sense of being the ultimate commander regarding all matters that impact one’s consciousness and life’s results. Being the general of all life’s campaigns and the one delegating directives that support personal objectives seems to fit this psychic architecture.
Altjira might scoff at those who pray for an outcome of a sporting event. The skill, training and intention of those in the game are what counts. As it does for us all as we engage the game of life - whether it feels like sport or not. Truly, it is our experience, skill, wisdom and consciousness that produce the highest rewards.

Be the protagonist in your life.

Promote yourself to captain of your life’s vessel.
